Got the total length as 28 Bytes but how do I decide whether its going from client to server or vice versa? (I think header checksum would decide but don't know how)

You will have to decode the source and destination ports (1st 16 bits, 2nd 16 bits). Then see if either of them is a 'known/reserved' port number

If the destination port is 'known' - then the packet is going from client to server.
If the source port is 'known' - then the packet is going from server to client.

How to remember these port numbers, and which port numbers are important - I do not know.

0- 1023 are well known Port numbers, So is it that destination or source port no should be within this?
